German E-Cars GmbH was a mid-sized German electric vehicle and mobility technology company, established in 2009 as a subsidiary of the Fräger Group and based in Grebenstein near Kassel. It offered three electric vehicle models between 2009 and 2016, including the Stromos—a small-series electric car built on Suzuki Splash/Opel Agila B underpinnings and reportedly sold more than 100 units to business and mobility-region clients in 2010. The company also supplied bespoke electric powertrains and energy-storage systems for industry and institutional R&D projects. Additionally, it collaborated with Doll Fahrzeugbau AG to produce specialized electric airport utility vehicles with lifting capabilities for catering and baggage logistics.
Despite surviving the Fräger Group’s 2013 insolvency, German E Cars GmbH itself entered insolvency in 2016.
