Erdmann-Feg was a German automobile manufacturer active from 1904 to 1908, founded by Friedrich Erdmann in Gera, Germany. The company specialized in producing vehicles that featured a distinctive friction transmission system. This system was primarily utilized for starting the vehicle and for navigating steep gradients, while normal driving conditions relied on a direct power transmission from the engine to the rear axle via a shaft.
The company employed various engine types in its vehicles, including 2-cylinder engines from Korting and 4-cylinder units sourced from Fafnir and Horch. Erdmann-Feg cars were also marketed under the name F.E.G. Additionally, the unique friction-drive system developed by Erdmann was licensed to another manufacturer, Bergmann, for their own vehicle production. Despite its brief existence, Erdmann-Feg contributed to the early automotive landscape in Germany.
