Dixi was a German automobile manufacturer that operated from 1904 to 1928. The company originated as Fahrzeugfabrik Eisenach, which was established in Eisenach, Germany. Initially, Dixi focused on producing small cars and was one of the early players in the German automotive industry.
In 1920, the company restructured and became known as Dixi-Werke AG. During its operational years, Dixi produced a range of vehicles, including the Dixi 3/15, which was notable for being one of the first cars to be manufactured in Germany under license from the British company Austin. This model played a significant role in the company's history and contributed to its reputation in the automotive market.
Dixi's production ceased in 1928 when it was absorbed by the BMW company, marking the end of its independent operations. The legacy of Dixi continued through BMW, which utilized some of the designs and technologies developed during Dixi's years of production.
