Fahrzeugfabrik Ansbach, commonly known as Ansbach, was a German automotive manufacturer founded in 1906, primarily focused on producing trucks. The company introduced a small car named the Kauz in 1910, which featured a 4-cylinder engine with a power output of 4/14 PS. However, the Kauz was short-lived and was discontinued after just one year as the company decided to concentrate on its core business of commercial vehicle production.

In 1919, the company underwent a name change to Fahrzeugfabriken Ansbach und Nurnburg AG, often abbreviated as FAUN. Under this new name, the company continued to manufacture primarily commercial vehicles, although it did produce some cars during the 1920s. FAUN's focus remained on the commercial sector, which defined its legacy in the automotive industry.
