AGA, originally known as AG für Automobilbau, was a German automobile manufacturer based in Berlin-Lichtenberg. The company was established in 1919 and operated until 1928, undergoing a name change to AGAFahrzeugwerke in 1926. AGA began its foray into car manufacturing with the introduction of the 6/16PS Typ A, which featured a 1418cc engine based on a prewar design from F.N. However, this model did not achieve commercial success.

In 1921, AGA replaced the Typ A with the Typ C, which maintained the same engine capacity but increased power output from 18 to 20 PS. The Typ C was available in both open and closed body styles and initially featured a vee-radiator design, transitioning to a more rounded shape around 1925. The vehicle was reasonably priced and gained a moderate level of sales. To expand its manufacturing capabilities, AGA acquired the DINOS firm in November 1925, both companies being part of the Hugo Stinnes group. Unfortunately, this acquisition coincided with a decline in the automotive market, leading to a decrease in production.

In 1927, AGA increased the power of its vehicles to 24 bhp and contemplated the development of a 10/45PS six-cylinder model, although this project did not materialize. Notably, AGA produced a 6/30PS sports car that participated in the 1924 Targa Florio, where it achieved second and third place in its class. Additionally, from 1920 to 1924, approximately 300 AGAs were manufactured under license by the Swedish company THULIN.
