Donnet-Zedel was a French automobile manufacturer that operated from 1924 to 1936. The company was established as Société Anonyme des Automobiles Donnet-Zedel, with its headquarters located in Pontarlier, Doubs, and later in Gennevillers and Nanterre, Seine. The brand emerged from the merger of the Donnet and Zedel companies, which aimed to produce a range of vehicles during the interwar period.
Initially, Donnet-Zedel focused on manufacturing a variety of automobiles, including small cars and larger models. The company produced vehicles that were characterized by their engineering and design, appealing to a diverse customer base. In 1928, the company rebranded itself as Société Anonyme des Automobiles Donnet, continuing to develop its automotive offerings until 1934.
In the latter part of its existence, from 1935 to 1936, the company operated under the name Donnet-Contin. Despite its efforts to innovate and adapt to the changing automotive landscape, Donnet-Zedel ultimately ceased production in 1936. The brand's legacy remains a part of the rich history of French automotive manufacturing during the early 20th century.
