Doctoresse was a French automobile manufacturer that operated from 1899 to 1902. The company was established in Paris under the name Ste Francaise d’Automobiles, with its operations led by the engineer Frédéric Gaillardet. Gaillardet had previously designed a 5-horsepower three-wheeler in 1899 before transitioning to the production of automobiles.

The Doctoresse brand produced two main models, featuring 6 and 12 horsepower engines. Both models were equipped with front-mounted, two-cylinder engines and utilized a chain drive system. The design and engineering of these vehicles were overseen by Gaillardet, who played a significant role in the early development of the brand.

Despite its brief existence, Doctoresse contributed to the early automotive landscape in France, showcasing innovative engineering for its time. After the company ceased operations, Gaillardet continued his involvement in the automotive industry as a consultant for another manufacturer, MILDE.
