Automobiles Leon Buat was a French automobile manufacturer based in Senlis, Oise, that operated from 1900 to 1905. The company made its debut at the 1900 Paris Salon, where it showcased a voiturette powered by a 3.5-horsepower De Dion-Bouton engine. This initial offering marked the beginning of its automotive production.
By 1903, Automobiles Leon Buat transitioned to using Aster engines for its vehicles, which included a range of five models. These models featured single-cylinder engines with outputs of 6.5 and 9 horsepower, as well as a 12-horsepower twin-cylinder variant. Additionally, the company produced four-cylinder cars with power ratings of 16 and 24 horsepower. The design of these vehicles was relatively conventional; the smaller models were characterized by De Dion-type bonnets, while the larger models bore a resemblance to contemporary Peugeot designs.
In 1905, Automobiles Leon Buat expanded its offerings to include a six-car range, with power outputs ranging from 8 to 30 horsepower. Despite its brief existence, the company contributed to the early automotive landscape in France.
