Bossaert was a French automotive manufacturer active from 1959 to 1964, known for producing distinctive coupes based on the Citroën DS. The company was founded by M. Bossaert, who aimed to create unique vehicles by modifying existing designs. One of the notable features of Bossaert's offerings was a coupe that featured a shortened wheelbase of 15.75 inches (470 mm), which contributed to its sporty appearance.
The design of Bossaert's coupe was crafted by the renowned Italian designer Pietro Frua. While the front end of the vehicle remained largely unchanged from the original Citroën DS, the rear was redesigned into a notchback form, giving it a unique silhouette. The bodies of these vehicles were initially manufactured by Italsuisse, a coachbuilding company, which later transitioned to a partnership with another coachbuilder, GW.
In addition to the coupe, Bossaert also offered a convertible version of the vehicle, expanding its lineup. Furthermore, the company introduced a restyled coupe under the name Stelvio, showcasing its commitment to innovation and design in the automotive sector.
