Behar was a French automobile manufacturer founded by Alain Behar in Toulouse during the mid-1980s. The company operated for a brief period from 1984 to 1985. Behar drew inspiration from a Brazilian Lafer to create a 1930s-style roadster, which bore a resemblance to the British Spartan. This vehicle featured a rear-mounted Volkswagen engine.
In an effort to bring his design to market, Behar successfully secured government assistance to develop a production model. However, the funding came with the condition that the new model would be constructed on a Renault chassis, incorporating a front-mounted engine. Despite these efforts, the company had a short-lived existence and did not achieve significant commercial success.
