Bebe was a French automobile brand that operated between 1912 and 1915, founded by Hubert Barraud in Montluçon, France. The company specialized in the production of light cars, offering a range of models that catered to different consumer needs.
The Bebe lineup included a two-seater variant equipped with either a single-cylinder Anzani or Buchet engine, as well as two- and four-seater models powered by an 8/10 horsepower four-cylinder Chapuis-Dornier engine. These vehicles featured advanced engineering for their time, including four-speed friction transmissions and shaft drive systems. By 1915, the models transitioned to conventional three-speed gearboxes.
Despite having a substantial factory, Bebe's production was limited, with estimates suggesting that no more than 100 cars were manufactured during its brief existence. The brand was often referred to by its trademark, 'B.B.', which became synonymous with its vehicles.
