Ateliers de Construction Mécanique L'Aster, commonly known as Aster, was a French company founded in the early 20th century, specifically around 1900. Based in St. Denis, Seine, Aster gained prominence as a supplier of engines rather than a manufacturer of complete automobiles. The company participated in various automotive exhibitions, showcasing its innovations, including a 3-horsepower quadricycle at the 1900 Paris Salon and a 12-horsepower vehicle at the 1903 Crystal Palace Show.

Although Aster did produce chassis, it primarily focused on engine manufacturing. The engines produced by Aster were utilized in several vehicles, including those marketed under the Aster name, although these were often not complete cars. Notable collaborations included the WEST-ASTER and WHITLOCK-ASTER models. Aster engines were also featured in various British automobiles, such as those produced by Argyll, Dennis, Singer, and Swift. In France, prominent customers included ARLIS and Gladiator, further establishing Aster's reputation in the automotive industry.

Despite its significant contributions to engine manufacturing, Aster's legacy is primarily tied to its role as a key supplier in the automotive sector rather than as a standalone car manufacturer.
