Brand Data

Company Name: Leveque et Bodenred

Place: Boulogne-sur-Seine

Country: France

Astahl was a French automobile manufacturer active between 1906 and 1908, based in Boulogne-sur-Seine. The company was founded by Levbque et Bodenreder and is often associated with the Helbe brand, as suggested by a British journalist. This connection is further supported by the fact that both brands were advertised from similar locations, with Astahl's advertisements appearing from Rue des Labourdonnais in Paris.

The vehicles produced by Astahl were equipped with engines sourced from De Dion Bouton, specifically 6 and 8 horsepower single-cylinder units, as well as a 10/12 horsepower four-cylinder engine manufactured by Amstoutz. In 1907, Helbe also listed a 12 horsepower model, although the specific manufacturer was not disclosed. The Astahl name appears to have been primarily utilized for the British market, and it is noted that at least one Astahl vehicle still exists in England today.
