Arola was a French manufacturer of microcars that operated from 1976 to 1983. The company was initially based in Lyon-Corbas and later moved to Aix-les-Bains. Arola gained recognition for its innovative designs, particularly its simple yet elegant fiberglass enclosed bodywork, which represented a modest advancement from traditional mopeds.

The first model produced by Arola featured a 47cc Sachs engine mounted at the rear, and it was notable for its unique single front wheel configuration. Shortly thereafter, Arola introduced a four-wheeled variant powered by a 50cc Motobecane engine. As the company expanded its offerings, it also introduced a more powerful model equipped with a BCB 125cc engine to accommodate the growing demand for larger microcars.

In 1982, Arola acquired the Minoto model from BEDMOTORS, further diversifying its product line. At its peak, Arola achieved impressive sales figures, with over 4,000 units sold annually. However, the company faced financial difficulties and ultimately went bankrupt in 1983. Following its closure, Arola's legacy continued through the establishment of AIXAM, which emerged as a successor in the microcar market.
