Ampère was a French automobile manufacturer active from 1906 to 1909, based in Billancourt, Seine. The company is noted for its production of vehicles that featured innovative engineering for the time, including a 10/16 horsepower four-cylinder engine. One of the distinctive characteristics of the Ampère vehicles was the electrically operated clutch, which transmitted power to the gearbox, enhancing the driving experience.

The design of the Ampère automobiles bore a strong resemblance to that of Renault vehicles, particularly in the layout of the dashboard radiator and the bonnet. This similarity has led to speculation that the Ampère may have been a modified version of a Renault model, equipped with the unique Ampère electric clutch system.
