The Ace was offered in several configurations, utilizing Ford V8 engines in three distinct versions: the 289 MkII, the 289 FIA, and the limited edition fixed-head 289 Le Mans. Additionally, a variant known as the Ace Bristol was produced, which was equipped with a BMW 6-cylinder engine.
