ECOmove ApS was a Danish company founded in Horsens, Denmark, that specialized in innovative electric vehicle technologies. Its most notable project was the QBEAK, a lightweight all-electric urban vehicle concept that reached prototype testing by the early 2010s and received approval from the Danish Traffic Authority (Trafikstyrelsen) to produce cars, holding a World Manufacturer Identifier for vehicle identification. Technologically, ECOmove developed several advanced components: a carbon-fiber chassis platform (referred to as “Qstrung”) used in electric conversions such as a Porsche 356 Speedster, and the Qwheel, an integrated in-wheel motor system combining motor, braking (regenerative and mechanical), suspension, and steering in a compact, modular design. The Qwheel provided independent traction with low unsprung mass (~21kg), 40kW maximum power, and up to 490Nm torque. Despite prototype developments and technological promise, there is no evidence of mass-produced vehicles reaching the market.
