Fisher Motor Car Co. Ltd was based in Walkerville, Ontario, and was formed to take over production following the failure of the Tudhope automobile in the summer of 1913.
By early 1914, the company, led by former Canadian Studebaker manager Frank E. Fisher, began assembling cars based on the Tudhope design, which were sold under the Fisher name. These models, known as the 4-36 and 6-48, were produced at the former Tudhope factory in Orillia, Ontario. There were plans to build a new, larger factory at Walkerville, but these were never realized.
Production of Fisher automobiles ended once the remaining stock of Tudhope components had been used up. The Orillia factory subsequently shifted to war-related work until 1918 and continued afterward as a small-scale supplier of automotive accessories until 1928.
