VEZ

VEZ was a Brazilian electric-vehicle startup based in Curitiba, Paraná, and was identified as Veículos de Emissão Zero. It took over a small hybrid urban-vehicle project first shown in concept form by MMR Motorsport at the end of 2010 and reintroduced it under the name SEED, standing for Small Electric with Economic Design. The vehicle family retained the original basic layout, with a tubular chassis, rear-wheel drive, front-disc brakes, Fiat Mille suspension components, a rear-mounted electric motor, lead-acid traction batteries under the seats, and a small ethanol-powered generator at the front.

The project included four versions: the two-seat City, the Work pickup, the Work CR van, and the high-roof Work Van. The electric drivetrain gave the car a top speed of 100 km/h and battery-only range of 100 km, rising to 300 km when the generator was in use. VEZ later coordinated a funding campaign to put the vehicle into series production, though the project did not progress to industrial manufacture.
