Avis was an Austrian automobile manufacturer that operated from 1921 to 1928. The company originated as Technische Werkstatten GmbH in Vienna, where it initially focused on aircraft production. However, following the prohibition of aircraft manufacturing in Germany and Austria, the firm transitioned to automobile production in 1924, rebranding itself as Avis Flugzeug-und Automobilwerke GmbH.

The vehicles produced by Avis were characterized by their neat design and lightweight construction. They primarily featured 4/20 PS two-cylinder engines, which provided adequate performance for the era. Avis offered a range of body styles, including a coupl deville variant that was suitable for use as a taxicab, catering to both personal and commercial transportation needs.

Despite its brief existence, Avis contributed to the early automotive landscape in Austria before ceasing operations in 1928.
