Die Casters Ltd was established in 1946 in Collingwood, Victoria, Australia. The company initially focused on supplying components to the automotive industry and explored the potential for local motor vehicle manufacturing prior to World War II. During this period, Die Casters acquired several 10hp front-wheel drive Adler Trumpf chassis, which were fitted with local bodies for endurance testing.
After the war, Die Casters assembled a group of subcontractors to continue supplying components. However, as General Motors-Holden's (G.M.H.) dominance in the Australian automotive market became apparent, Die Casters shifted its focus away from vehicle manufacturing to other endeavors. The company's early efforts in the automotive sector reflected the challenges and dynamics of the post-war Australian automotive industry.
