Qoros to Unveil Model K-EV Concept at Shanghai Auto 2017

Qoros Automotive Co., Ltd. (Qoros Auto) is set to reveal Qoros Model K-EV, its newest high-performance electric concept car at Shanghai Auto 2017. Featuring forward-looking design and cutting-edge technologies, Model K-EV is created by an international design and engineering team to offer customers premium driving and riding experiences and a taste of future mobility.

"Qoros is committed to deliver world-class quality products that offer premium customer experience," said Dr Leon Liu, Chief Executive Officer of Qoros Auto. "The Qoros Model K-EV concept represents the next step in Qoros' new energy strategy, fulfilling Qoros' promise to bring future-oriented new energy vehicle products to the market in the near future. "

The Qoros Model K-EV features a strong blend of forward-looking design and cutting-edge technologies. The revolutionary asymmetric door design, allowing greater possibility for designers to create a unique and distinctive experience for the driver and passengers. The large-sized gull-wing door on the driver's side automatically opens when activated. The front passenger's door with a two-hinged system opens outward as a conventional door or sliding horizontally alongside if needed. The door on the rear passenger side features a sliding system to ensure maximize convenience and ease of use for passengers entering and exiting the car. Additionally, the car's interior has been purposefully designed to create two distinct cabin spaces in the front and rear, providing back-seat passengers with a more comfortable and enjoyable riding experience.

Qoros Model K-EV is built with "Clever Carbon Cabin" (CCC) technology, a seamlessly-integrated cabin made primarily from carbon fiber. The use of this durable material significantly reduces the mass of the vehicle which contributes to an increase in the vehicle's energy efficiency to provide a high mileage that helps reduce "range anxiety". CCC's use of carbon fiber also maintains vehicle body strength and durability, with significant design freedom, while maintaining occupant safety over long-term use. The seamless construction of CCC lends Model K-EV its refined and simplified appearance, while aerodynamic design features and sleek body lines help to enhance its performance and increase energy efficiency by significantly reducing wind drag.

The Qoros Model K-EV will feature individually powered, high performance, all-wheel drive system, utilizing the same high performance electric drive-line technology also found in Koenigsegg's legendary Regera, the limited production plug-in hybrid supercar designed by Swedish supercar manufacturer. Such proven technology puts Model K-EV ahead of 'concept car' category and opens the possibility for mass production in the near future. Qoros' cooperation with Koenigsegg starts with the QamFree engine, the innovative engine technology developed by Koenigsegg's sister company FreeValve, has received widespread recognition and praise as it significantly boost the performance of a conventional gas engine while reducing its fuel consumption. This revolutionary new technology will be introduced to Qoros' future internal combustion car models to sharpen their competitiveness in the market.

Dr Leon Liu stated that Model K-EV represents a crucial milestone furthering the company's new energy strategy. Following the debut of Model K-EV at Shanghai Auto, plans are being drawn to put Model K-EV into mass production in 2019.
