[EXCLUSIVE!] Elibriea Equvallas supercar - Qatar's first automobile

Jan 27, 2016

A Middle Eastern is rising in terms of specialty cars. Particularly - exclusive sportscars and supercars. We do already have W Motors building most expensive supercar, Zarooq, Janarelly also not forgetting the amazing Devel Sixteen project. They all are interesting examples of how far brave entrepreneurs in the region can go to make their visions come true.

A new name coming from the Middle East is the Elibriea Automotive - Qatar's first automobile manufacturer. We are not talking about some trendy ultra fuel-efficient hybrid electric microcar. No. The one in topic is a new supercar project. A superpowerful gasoline-burning four-wheeled machine. A mid-engined beast which is powered by a 800hp aggregate inside the carbon fiber monocoque. So far so good, but the company is not providing much more information about their prototype vehicle, nor does it give away the price tag.

However, this may not be the most important aspect. What catches an immediate attention, of course, is styling. The model name - Equvallas - may be a sign of a well-balanced design, however I would strongly disagree with that. The official renderings show an especially radical and sophisticated angular bodywork equipped with Lamborghini-style scissor doors. A super wide (~2.14 meters!) and very flat coupe got a Transformers-like front end. It is a good question, where exactly front lights are placed on this car. Obviously, it is much inspired by Lamborghini Veneno. Sideline (if there is any) or, better to say, profile is emphasized by the doors with strange element with no hints at what is its real function. Finally, the rear end is something very hard to understand too. Much time has passed since the last time I saw such a strange combination of separate elements put together as a single part of the bodywork. As smart people say - the beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but I would seriously advise the company to reconsider their design language. Really seriously, I mean.

A scheduled world premiere of this history-making project will happen at the Qatar International Motor Show starting this week. Stay tuned for more information - we will be bringing more detail about this extraordinary machine as soon as they are available.
