Specialty cars industry is indeed special. Every year, every season it brings out some very unique models, versions and projects. Not an exception is a brand new automobile which has just been announced by a new American company – Bulleta Motors.

Being located in Irvine, California, Bulleta has plans to build the RF22 – an exotic mid-engined sportscar based on the British Lotus Evora. Featuring an external design inspired by Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor jet fighter, this new model highlights smooth lines, classic and timeless design approach with no function-less supplements. It is a work of automotive designer Samir Sadikhov.

The technical side of Bulleta’s model is impressive, as well.   The RF22 will get a full carbon fiber wheels which are not only super light but strong too. Carbon will also be utilized for ceramic disk brakes and for the manufacture of the bodywork. The second option for the RF22’s body is a GRP (glass-reinforced plastic) composite. All in all, a proposed total weight for the vehicle is just 2920 lb (1363 kg).

Under the skin of the Bulleta will sit a mid-mounted 3.5-liter supercharged DOHC V6 engine capable for 505hp and 410 lb/ft (555 Nm). Coupled with a 6-speed manual gearbox this power source will run the RF22 from 0 to 96 km/h in just 3.6 seconds. A promising performer it is! Moreover, the company says that the chassis of the car has been tested on the racetrack.

There is no word yet regarding the price, manufacturing date or quantity limits for the Bulleta. Also, for the meantime, the car might well still be under development. However, some interior photos look quite realistic that we would think the car is in a finishing stage. We would make our guess that the finished model can appear at the forthcoming SEMA 2013 show in Las Vegas this November. Leave your thoughts and comments below!
