Invader was a kit car brand that operated from approximately 1971 to 1985, based in Alameda, California. The brand was founded by Bruce Weeks, who designed the Invader GT, a distinctive low-profile vehicle that utilized Volkswagen running gear. One of the notable features of the Invader GT was its clear plastic gull-wing doors, which contributed to its striking appearance.
The Invader GT gained popularity and sold in significant numbers during its production run. In addition to its production in the United States, the vehicle was also manufactured in Spain. Although there were at least four different models under the Invader name, they shared a similar aesthetic, maintaining a consistent design language throughout the lineup.
In later years, the Invader project was acquired by Kaylor Energy Products, marking a transition in ownership and direction for the brand.
