Indian [2]

UNITED STATES

time-calendar.png 1927-1929

By the late 1920's Indian was experiencing difficult financial times. This led the company to explore the possibility of introducing new products, which included branching out into car manufacture.
The company made four experimental cars, designated X1 through X4, between 1927 and 1928. The X4 featured a roadster style body, and was powered by a Lycoming engine.
When Charles Levine gained control of Indian late in 1929, just after the stock market crash, the idea of building cars was scrapped.
