Gabriel Auto Company was an American automobile manufacturer based in Cleveland, Ohio. The company originated from the W.H. Gabriel Carriage & Wagon Company, which was established in 1851. This transition marked a shift from traditional carriage making to automobile production.
In March 1910, Gabriel Auto Company announced its first automobile, a 25/30 horsepower four-cylinder tourer. The company produced a limited number of these vehicles over a span of two years, from 1910 to 1912. However, the market for passenger cars proved challenging, leading to a strategic pivot in the company's focus.
In 1913, Gabriel Auto Company shifted its production to trucks, which became more profitable than passenger vehicles. This decision allowed the company to continue operations, and it manufactured trucks until 1918, after which the company ceased automobile production.
