Feora was an American automotive brand that operated briefly from 1981 to 1982, founded by Chuck Ophorst in Los Angeles, California. The brand was known for its distinctive three-wheeled vehicle, which combined elements of vintage fighter planes with futuristic design aesthetics reminiscent of science fiction films.
The Feora featured a highly aerodynamic design, boasting a claimed drag coefficient of 0.15. This was achieved through its low frontal area, teardrop shape, and extreme narrowness. The vehicle's body was constructed entirely from fiberglass and was mounted on a complex space frame chassis, resulting in a total weight of just 505 pounds. The seating arrangement accommodated two passengers in a tandem configuration, which was accessed via a folding canopy.
Powering the Feora was a 175cc Honda two-cylinder engine located at the rear, producing 22 brake horsepower. This configuration allowed the vehicle to reach a top speed of 92 mph while achieving fuel consumption figures exceeding 90 miles per gallon. Although there were plans for a production run of the Feora, these were ultimately abandoned due to concerns over the projected high price of the vehicle, which was deemed prohibitive for potential buyers.
