Columbia Motors Company was an American automobile manufacturer based in Detroit, Michigan, that operated from 1916 to 1924. The company focused on producing low-priced assembled cars, which utilized well-known proprietary components. This strategy allowed Columbia to attract a significant number of buyers during its operational years.

The Columbia lineup included two models, both powered by Continental six-cylinder engines. In 1923, the company achieved notable sales, with approximately 6,000 units sold, primarily the roadster model, which was priced at $995. This level of sales indicated a strong market presence for the brand during that period.

In 1923, Columbia Motors Company expanded its portfolio by acquiring the Liberty brand. However, despite this acquisition, both Columbia and Liberty faced financial difficulties, leading to their failure in 1924. Notably, the Columbia was among the early adopters of thermostatically-controlled radiator shutters, a feature it introduced as early as 1920, showcasing its commitment to innovation in automotive design.
