The Buffalo Electric Carriage Company was established in 1901 in Buffalo, New York, and operated until 1906. The company specialized in the production of electric vehicles, offering a diverse range of models that included light runabouts, stanhope vehicles, golf buggies, and a notable four-seater touring car. This touring car featured batteries positioned ahead of the passengers under a small bonnet and beneath the seats, and it was priced at $5,000, available only in 1903.

In 1906, the company underwent a change in ownership when F.A. Babcock acquired it and subsequently rebranded the vehicles under his name. This new iteration, known as Babcock Electrics, lasted for six years. During this period, the company produced vehicles that featured Renault-style bonnets and were available in various forms, including roadsters, broughams, and coupes. However, the declining popularity of electric vehicles during this time led to a decrease in sales, and the company ultimately ceased operations in 1915.
