Automatic Electric Transportation Company was established in 1921 in Buffalo, New York. The company specialized in manufacturing electric vehicles, notably producing a compact two-seater electric car characterized by its short wheelbase of 65 inches (1650 mm) and an overall length of 95 inches (2411 mm). This vehicle was smaller than the average American electric car of its time and had a top speed of only 18 mph (29 km/h). Priced at $1200, it was considered expensive, which contributed to its limited sales.
In addition to passenger vehicles, Automatic Electric also produced a delivery van built on a slightly longer chassis and manufactured industrial trucks. The company operated until 1927, when it was acquired by the Walker Vehicle Company of Chicago.
