Auriga Corp. was an American automotive manufacturer based in Gainesville, Florida, active from 1980 until approximately 1995. The company specialized in producing simple and affordable sports cars, primarily utilizing existing automotive platforms for their designs.
One of the notable models produced by Auriga was the Auriga GS, a doorless convertible sports car that was built on the Volkswagen floorpan. This model was characterized by its straightforward assembly process and cost-effectiveness, making it accessible to a wider audience. The Auriga GS was also marketed under the name Vokaro 4 by VOPARD in California, further expanding its reach in the market.
Later in its production run, Auriga reintroduced its design concepts with the Dauphin 2+2, which was sold by REDHEAD ROADSTERS. This model continued the company's focus on providing affordable sports cars, maintaining the ethos of simplicity and ease of assembly that defined Auriga's earlier offerings.
