Alessi was an American sports car marque founded by Nick Alessi, who began work on his first car in 1977. The mid-engine AR-1 was unveiled at the New York Motor Show in 1979 by Commonwealth Custom Coachbuilders of Lake Green, New York, a company Alessi established with Marc Rosen.
