Encore Cars was a British manufacturer based in Norwich, Norfolk, that operated from 1992 until approximately 1997. The company specialized in producing kit cars, notably a replica of the 1957 Lotus Elite. This model was recognized for its convincing aesthetic, featuring detailed reproductions of both the exterior and interior trim of the original vehicle.

Despite its visual fidelity, the Encore replica employed a more pragmatic engineering approach. It utilized a separate steel backbone chassis instead of the original's fibreglass monocoque structure. This design choice allowed for greater durability and practicality. Additionally, the vehicle featured dummy rear strut towers, while the actual suspension system was designed with double wishbones at both the front and rear.

The prototype of the Encore replica was powered by a Ford CVH engine, paired with a Sierra gearbox, offering a choice of engines for potential buyers. The company aimed to provide enthusiasts with a blend of classic styling and modern engineering in their kit cars.
