Diva was a British automotive brand that operated from 1962 to 1968, primarily known for its lightweight sports cars. The brand originated with Tunex Conversions Ltd, based in London, where Don Sim, one of the partners, designed the Diva GT. This model featured a compact design with a fiberglass body mounted on a spaceframe, independent suspension, and disc brakes on the front wheels. It offered a selection of four-cylinder Ford engines and was available in both competition and road versions, although all 65 units sold were primarily competition models.
In 1965, to adapt to the evolving market, Diva introduced the Valkyr, a mid-engine coupe aimed at the racing segment. The Valkyr was offered with a variety of engines, ranging from a Hillman Imp unit to a more powerful 2.7-litre Coventry Climax FPF engine. However, it did not achieve the same level of success or popularity as the Diva GT.
By 1967, the rights to both the Diva GT and Valkyr were sold to a new owner, but the company ceased operations by 1968. Despite its brief existence, Diva made a notable impact in the small-engine Grand Touring racing class during its operational years.
