Dash was a British sports car manufacturer that operated from 1986 to 1993. The brand's origins can be traced back to Australia in 1978, when Peter Pellandini developed the PELIAND sports car. The design eventually made its way to the United Kingdom, where it was significantly modified by a company named l.istair in 1986. This modification led to the rebranding of the vehicle as the Dash, which featured a mid-mounted Volkswagen engine housed within a monocoque fiberglass shell, complemented by a specially designed suspension system.
In 1989, the production of Dash vehicles transitioned to Dash Sportscars, located in Eardisley, Hereford. Under this new management, the company introduced an option for Alfasud power, expanding the performance capabilities of their offerings. During its brief existence, Dash also produced the MCA model, contributing to the niche market of lightweight sports cars in the late 1980s. The brand ceased operations in 1993, marking the end of its contribution to the British automotive landscape.
