Cowey Engineering Co. Ltd., based in Kew Gardens, Surrey, was active from 1910 to 1915. The company gained attention at the 1910 Olympia Show, where it showcased two experimental cars featuring an innovative pneumatic suspension system. This system utilized four cylinders of compressed air in place of traditional springs and included a self-leveling device, a concept that would later be refined in vehicles such as the Citroën DS 19.

The initial models exhibited were powered by De Dion-Bouton engines, offering outputs of 10 and 20 horsepower. These cars were equipped with solid tires to effectively demonstrate the advantages of the pneumatic suspension system. Following the exhibition, Cowey Engineering introduced a light car for sale in 1913, which continued to utilize the pneumatic suspension technology. This model was powered by a 10 horsepower, four-cylinder Chapuis-Dornier engine and featured a distinctive Morris-like bullnose radiator along with a friction drive mechanism that employed a conical flywheel as the driving disc. The car was priced at £300, reflecting its experimental nature and innovative engineering.
