Achilles was a British automobile manufacturer active from 1903 to 1908, based in Frome, Somerset. The company, officially known as B. Thompson & Co. Ltd, produced a range of vehicles starting from 6 horsepower. The majority of their cars were equipped with single-cylinder engines sourced from De Dion-Bouton, although they also offered a 12 horsepower model powered by a two-cylinder engine from White & Poppe.
In addition to engines, Achilles utilized components from various prominent suppliers of the time, including Lacoste et Battman and Malicete et Blin. While the company manufactured only the bodies and smaller fittings of their vehicles in Frome, they also held agencies for other automobile marques and engaged in engineering work, which included producing iron and bronze castings for diverse applications. Some of their vehicles were marketed under the name "G.P." Despite a relatively small production volume, Achilles earned a sound reputation locally, and evidence of their legacy persists through surviving examples of their automobiles.
