ABC [2]

Auto Body Craft, commonly referred to by its initials, was a small British manufacturer active between 1969 and 1973. The company began operations in Kingswinford, West Midlands, before relocating to Brierley Hill, Staffordshire, in 1971, where it continued production until it ceased trading in 1973.

The firm became known for the ABC Tricar, a three-wheeled vehicle widely regarded as the first road-going trike based on the Mini. Early versions retained the entire front end of the donor Mini, with the rear section removed and replaced by half of a rear Mini subframe. A two-seat open body made of glassfibre was then bonded onto this modified structure.

Later examples of the Tricar evolved to feature fully glassfibre bodywork. These later models also introduced a practical design improvement, allowing the entire front end of the vehicle to swing forward, which provided easier access to the engine for maintenance.

Production of the ABC Tricar remained limited throughout the company's existence, with approximately 25 examples built in total before the manufacturer ceased operations.
