Artes was a Spanish automotive brand active from 1966 to 1970, founded by Josi Artes de Arcos in Barcelona. Initially recognized as a component manufacturer, Artes shifted its focus towards the production of sports cars, driven by a growing interest in motorsport.
The brand's first significant project was the development of Formula 4 racing cars under the name Guepardo. Following this venture, Artes introduced the Campeador, a rear-engine GT coupé characterized by its fiberglass body, which drew inspiration from the Ford GT40. The prototype of the Campeador was equipped with an 1100cc Gordini engine; however, the production models were powered by a tuned version of the Spanish-built Seat 1500 engine, delivering 140 brake horsepower.
In addition to the Campeador, Artes also explored other automotive projects, including a buggy developed in 1971 and the Gato Montes, a small six-wheeled all-terrain amphibious vehicle that utilized mechanical components from Citroën.
