Chevron

Chevron was a New Zealand automobile marque produced by Chevron Engineering, based in Auckland on the North Island. The company built a clubman-type sports car designed by Evan Fray.

The Chevron was constructed using a ladder frame made from 38mm diameter tubing, paired with front suspension and a rear axle sourced from the Vauxhall Viva. Buyers could choose from a wide range of engines to power the vehicle, including 1600cc units from Ford or Toyota, a 4.4-litre engine from Leyland Australia, or 5-litre Ford V8s.

The model achieved notable popularity within its category, with 218 examples produced by 1996. Beyond the domestic market, Chevron cars were exported to Australia, New Guinea, and Japan.
