Tarchini was associated with the distribution of Jaguar automobiles in the north of Italy. The company hoped to produce and disseminate copies of the Bertone FT coupé, a show car designed by Marcello Gandini that made use of mechanical components from the Jaguar 420. Despite these ambitions, the imposing coupé never entered any form of production and remained a single, one-off example.
