Giannini Automobili SpA was an Italian automotive company based in Rome, founded in 1920 by Atrilio Giannini. Initially, the company specialized in tuning engines, primarily focusing on Fiat models. Following World War II, Giannini entered into a partnership with Bernardo Taraschi, leading to the formation of Giaur. However, Giannini departed from this partnership before Giaur ceased operations in 1955, redirecting his efforts towards engine design.

In 1963, Giannini established a new company dedicated to tuning and customizing Fiat vehicles. Among its early offerings was a 1000cc Formula 2 engine, which gained popularity among Italian racing entrants, as well as an 850cc coupe constructed from Fiat 600 components. By 1965, the company introduced a new coupe based on Fiat 850 components, featuring an enlarged engine of 930cc.

In 1969, Giannini developed a 994cc double overhead cam engine for the Francis Lombardi 850 Grand Prix, also known as the OTAS Grand Prix, and marketed it as the Giannini 1000 Grand Prix. The company also supplied engines for vehicles sold under the OTAS brand. In 1972, Giannini launched the 'Sirio,' a 650cc two-seat sports car based on Fiat 500 parts; however, it did not achieve commercial success. Subsequently, Giannini shifted its focus back to tuning and modifying Fiat saloons. By 1998, the company was producing a sporting version of the Fiat Seicento, continuing its legacy in automotive customization.
