Cornely was a French automotive brand that operated briefly from 1972 to 1974. The company was based in Malakoff, France, and was known for producing a unique sports car that was built on the chassis of the Volkswagen Beetle.
The Cornely model was initially presented at the Racing Car Show in 1972 under the name Moana, a design created by Yvan Labar and brought to fruition by Roger Matigot. The vehicle featured a distinctive design that bore some resemblance to the Matra M530, characterized by a fixed rear section and roll-up sides that facilitated entry into the car.
In 1973, the design was put into production by Cornely, marking the brand's foray into the automotive market. However, the company’s operations were short-lived, and it ceased production just a year later in 1974. Despite its brief existence, Cornely contributed to the diversity of automotive design in the early 1970s.
