Car Système was a French automobile manufacturer established in 1981 by Gerald Maillard and Patrick Fauchcr. The company operated from Redon, France, and specialized in producing modified versions of existing Renault models.
One of the notable products of Car Système was the JP4, a shortened "beach car" variant of the Renault 4. This model featured a minimalist design with only two seats, no doors, and a soft top, catering to a niche market for leisure vehicles. In addition to the JP4, the company also offered a version based on the Renault 6 and a four-seater model, contributing to a small production run of several hundred units.
In 1989, Car Système shifted its focus to manufacturing convertibles based on the Renault 5, marking a new direction for the company. The transition reflected the evolving preferences in the automotive market during that period.
