Ardex was a French microcar manufacturer based in Nanterre, Seine, operational from 1952 to 1955. The company specialized in producing compact vehicles characterized by their simple, slab-sided bodywork and minimalistic design, which included no doors and seating for four passengers.
The Ardex microcar was equipped with a rear-mounted engine, which was available in two variants: a 100cc or a 125cc single-cylinder two-stroke engine sourced from Saab. The vehicle featured a three-speed transmission, providing basic functionality suitable for urban commuting. Additionally, Ardex offered a smaller two-seater model powered by a 50cc Sachs engine, catering to the demand for even more compact transportation solutions.
Despite its brief production run, Ardex contributed to the microcar segment during the post-war era, reflecting the era's focus on economical and space-efficient vehicles.
