Huaxing

Huaxing was a Chinese automobile marque associated with several manufacturers across different provinces, reflecting the fragmented nature of small-scale vehicle production in China during the late twentieth century. Vehicles bearing the Huaxing name were produced at facilities including the Guizhou Aviation Industry Corporation's Yunma Aircraft Works in Anshun City, Guizhou Province, the Hainan Auto Works in Haikou City, Hainan Province, and the Huaxing Automobile Group Corporation in Beijing Municipality.

The best known model associated with the marque was the Huaxing YM 6390, built at the Yunma factory. This compact car, measuring 152 inches (3,870 mm) in length, was essentially a copy of the Toyota Starlet. It was powered by a Jilin JL462Q four-cylinder petrol engine of 797 cc displacement. The same vehicle was also marketed under the alternate names Yunma YM 6390 and Yunque GHK 7080, illustrating the practice of rebadging identical designs across different regional producers.

Similar rebadging occurred at the Hainan Auto Works, where the same basic design was sold as the Huaxing HXJ 7080 and simultaneously marketed as the Hainan HX 7080. In Beijing, the Huaxing Automobile Group offered a version known as the Huaxing RK 5010X, which was manufactured by the Army's Xima Auto Refit Works and also distributed under the name Xima XM5020.

The Huaxing marque exemplified the decentralized and often overlapping structure of China's early automotive industry, in which a single vehicle design could be produced by multiple factories and sold under a variety of brand names and model designations depending on the manufacturing plant and regional distributor involved.
