E-Vade

AUSTRALIA

time-calendar.png 2008-2015

The E-Vade was the brainchild of David Walter, who was the engineer for the Anzac class frigate HMAS Ballarat. Design work commenced in 2002, with the first parts being constructed in 2003.
The E-Vade had a mild steel space-frame chassis clothed by a fibreglass body, and weighed 950kg. The engine was a V6 Nissan mounted longitudinally behind the driver, developing 300KW.
The transmission was a locally-built 5 speed. An unusual feature was a built-in hydraulic jacking system which could life the car 20 cm for quick tyre changes.
The E-Vade was shown at the 2008 Melbourne Motor Show, with limited production continuing until 2015.
