The Sigma-1 was a small cargo three-wheeler built by G. Birzniex, a 29-year-old electric welder from Latvia. It was assembled after he had long collected parts, with a 19 hp engine from an IZh-56 motorcycle, a rear axle from a motor-roller and a front axle from the SZD motorised carriage. It was force-air cooled, weighed 320 kg and carried a load of 550 kg at speeds up to 50 km/h.
