Dawson was an American automobile manufacturer established in 1904 by the J.H. Dawson Machinery Company, located in Chicago, Illinois. The company produced a limited range of vehicles before ceasing operations later that same year.

The automobiles manufactured by Dawson were powered by a 26-horsepower, two-cylinder engine. They featured a long, single chain drive that connected the gearbox to the rear axle. The gearbox offered two speeds, described as "one slow and one fast." Dawson's lineup included two body styles: a two-seater runabout and a four-seater tourer.

Unfortunately, the company faced a significant setback when a factory fire occurred in March 1904, which ultimately led to the end of production for Dawson automobiles. Despite its brief existence, the brand contributed to the early automotive landscape in the United States.
